Eurobodalla – on Yuin Country

Land of many waters

Round montage photographs Jillian Edwards

With Our Own Eyes Eurobodalla showcases our community’s stories, art and local solutions to climate change.

WOOEE was born out of the ashes of the 2019-2020

Black Summer fires that burnt 81% of Eurobodalla.

WOOEE grew out of a shop window community art display held 6 months after the fires were finally declared out.

Climate – The fabric upon which nature rests.

The foundation that our lives depend upon.

We pay our respect to the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the Country on which we live and create. We honour the Walbanja, Djirringanj – Yuin, Yuin – Brinja peoples, of the Greater Yuin Nation. This Land was never ceded.

WOOEE pays respect to Yuin Elders, both past and emerging, and Yuin Elders within our community. We acknowledge and commit to learning from the deep, continuing, and re-awakening Knowledge held by this country’s First Nations Peoples. There can be no climate justice without such a commitment.

WOOEE shares the climate changes we are seeing in our own lives and in Eurobodalla’s forests, rivers, oceans, mountains, estuaries & habitats.

Our next decade is critical to the safety and wellbeing of our Eurobodalla community, and for the biodiversity and health of Country, and our entire life-giving planet.

WOOEE is an initiative by locals who survived the 2019-2020 bushfires and a 350 Eurobodalla project.
