WOOEE was sent this poignant elegy by a member of Broulee’s community on May 25, 2022, as the felling of sand bangalay & banksia forest was taking place.
This pocket of majestic forest at the end of Heath st Broulee is being clear felled right now. Home to the endangered species – the White Footed Dunnart and Yellow Bellied Glider as well as the rare and endangered forest type – Sand Bangalay and Old Man Banksia.

Actually this forest belongs to us all. The tall shady trees, the kookaburras and black cockatoos, the leaping possums, wattles in Spring and treasured walks.
Sadly – no more.
More coastal strip cleared, more lost coastal forest & habitat.
